Simple Fall Tablescape

Continuing with my theme of free/cheap fall decor. I put together a VERY simple fall table. I had everything except the pumpkins which only cost me $1.50 total.
They tray was from our wedding my very talented friend Linds made it for us. The table runner i think was on clearance at Pottery Barn? My mom gave it to me.
The Leaf bowl was the only fall decoration i bought last year. My mom got if for me at Khols and i had candle in it last year. I put some pinecones in it that i also bought last year. Why would i buy pinecones when they are free outside and you are all about free? you ask? Well last year one weekend while the hubs and i were climbing i decided to collect acorns. They were so pretty and i imagined filling vases with them. Well when i went back to them about a week later they had maggots in them. SICK! it was so gross i later found out you are supposed to freeze them to kill the little guys inside. anyway i'm not tryin that anymore i'll wait until they go 75% off after the holiday.
The blue ball mason jar i got at the endless yard sale for $2 and the candles inside it were $2 on clearance at tjmaxx or marshalls a few years ago.
I know it's super simple but that is how i have been feeling lately, i have been getting rid of EVERYTHING we do not use. And it feels so good! I have had so much fun decorating for fall with things around the house, hopefully i can do the same for Christmas.

Leaf Banner Tutorial

Hey guys i'm back with some more free decorations! This is the window before.
Sorry this pic is so blurry.
I got these leaves when hubs and i went hikng a few weeks ago. i stuck them in a book to flatten them out.
We went hiking up lookout point and had a beautiful view of Chatty!
I measured how long i wanted my banner to be. Then i laid my leaves out and put the ribbon on top of them. You could also use, hemp, string, or yarn.
I duct taped the leaves to the ribbon.
To attach it to the window i just rolled the duct tape to make it sticky on both sides.
There you go a free, recycled, fall banner!

I also used the white pillar i got at the thrift store last week on the mantle, holding the fabric pumpkin.

Fall Mantal Take 3

Since i started decorating for fall i have changed my mantle 3 times. This is a regular for me, just ask my husband. I am changing things in our house almost everyday. I get new ideas. I want to put them in motion! So here are my three mantle designs. For all of these mantles i took things from around my house to save some moolah.

Take 1, right side of the mantle
and the left side
Take 2, the right side
and the left side

Take 3 the right side
and the left side
I'm loving the last set up, so i'll probably stick with it. O and see leaf banner on the window. i'll be back with a tutorial so you can make your own for free!

Fall Wreath

I wanted to spruce up my front door with a wreath. I bought one at the thrift store a few months back for $1.50. Since i'm trying to save all the money i can lately i looked for ribbon and fabric i already had.I used burlap that we had left over from the center pieces at our wedding and some ribbon i had left over from the bouquets in our wedding, the orange ribbon i had in my scrapbooking stuff.
The burlap comes in roles at Michaels for $3.99. From what i had left over i just cut them about 6-7 inch pieces and rolled them up to look like a flower. Then i stuck them in the wreath. I didn't even need to glue them down. Then i tied the orange and sheer ribbon inbetween them to fill in the gaps. I would have liked it to be a little fuller but that's all i had to work with :)
Here is the finished project.
Here is a picture of the process... i took me a while to figure out what exactly i was going to do!
Have you made any wreaths lately please share! I love getting new ideas!

Mums the word...

This weekend i broke out the fall decor. I decided to skip halloween and just decorate for fall, because it would save us money and as much money as i can save for christmas decorations the better :)
I started with the outside, I bought some mums for our front porch and after comparing prices i found a pretty good deal.
The first place i checked was Bi-Lo they had 8'' mums for 4.50 each.
Home Depot had smaller mums i think they were 6'' for 2.50 each, and 8'' mums for almost $7
Walmart had 8'' mum for $3.33!!! Best price so far!!

So here is what i left with.
3-8'' mums from Walmart for a little under $10.50
2-6'' mums from Home Depot for $5.50

Here are my 6'' mums in my hanging baskets
And the 8'' mums i planted in pots.

The pots i got from Hobby Lobby of course :) The pot was $2.99 + 50% off so they came out to $1.50, plus the hubs discount took off the tax! Total $4.50
The trays were $1.27 also 50% off so they came to about .65 cents! That's a total of $1.95
Total for the pots were $6.50
I also grabbed some potting soil from Home Depot for $2 i bougth Scotts topsoil.

So my total for outside fall mums was $24.50! Not to shabby considering you can plant the mums in the ground at the end of the season and they will grow again next year!

Fall is in the air!

This weekend besides slaving over a two day yard sale :) i did a little fall decorating.  The inside of my house i decorated for free. I found things around the house that were fall colors and put them together for some fall decoration. But outside i spent money on some beautiful fall mums! They are gorgeous and i took some time to find the best bargain! I also made a fall wreath with some ribbon and burlap i had left over from our wedding, and i used the wreath that i found in this post for $1.25.
Hopefully tonight, i will get the time to do a longer post with prices and more pictures.  But for now here is a little preview.

I Love Fall!

I know it's still like 90 decrees outside. But in my living room it feels and smells like fall thanks to my fan and new mulled cider candle from Walmart for $1. I Love Love Love Fall, especially decorating for it...Since i'm tryin to decorate as close to free as possible, it's going to a bit of a challenge this year but do not worry, i'll come at ya with some beautiful nature inspired Fall decor. I'm most excited about decorating the porch, here are some inspirational pics...

I love those tall corn stalks! If anyone sees them for sale anywhere please let me know!

I would love to do something like this maybe instead of a wreath?

And get some of these flowers which look amazing in the mases.

I LOVE this wreath!!

I can't wait to decorate but i'm gonna hold off until beginning of Oct after my garage sale, so i can save some mulah!!

How are you decorating for Fall?
