O Baby bAby!

This post was supposed to be published two weeks ago BEFORE we left for the beach, so when you read it just imagine you time traveled. (i'm not 15 weeks instead of 13)

That's right we are pregnant with baby number 2 due in November! Right now i am 13 weeks and feeling exhausted. But we are so excited!

And as you can imagine i've already got plans and have started redecorating the nursery. You know i'm always up for a change. I don't think i ever revealed Zion's nursery when we finished the first time but my friend took pics a few weeks ago before i started changing stuff so i'll post those pics soon.

This is how we announced we are expecting.
I didn't get many pics due to Z man erasing my sign.

We now have a playroom.

You know your a Mom when you are so excited to turn your craft room into a playroom. Well it's not all for the kid it also keeps me sane cause i can shut the door (it's cut in half so i can see him from the top half of the door) and let him play. Which is so nice especially when he doesn't take a nap and i need a break. don't judge.

We have done so much to the house since i last posted, new fireplace, new bookshelves, lots of kitchen updates and of course i have rearranged everything in order to baby proof this place.  So i am going to try to gradually catch you up.

The craft room which then became a craft/guest room in this reveal, has now become the playroom. Where is all my craft stuff you ask? Well, I got rid of A LOT of craft stuff so that i could fit everything in the little nook under the stairs and i store most of my craft stuff in a big armour in the guest room.  I took these pictures with my iphone so they are not the best quality but who has time to use their "real" camera then load the pictures, etc, etc, etc. ain't nobody got time for that.
You are probably gagging at how clean it is. Well the truth is i am a little OCD in the fact that i clean it every night so it is ready for him to tear up in the morning. He doesn't really "play" he just pull everything out and then i put it back and then he pulls it out again, so i spend a so the cleaning this happens multiple times during the day. But his toys don't have lots of little pieces so it takes me all of 3 mins to clean. score
Here are some pics of the playroom once he's been in there playing for a bit.
I had to sneak those pics so he didn't see me and start screaming :/

When Z man wakes up in the morning i go in his room and flick on his overhead light. He doesn't have any windows in his room so this is a bright shock to his lil eyes, but i just love his morning face when he can't quite open his eyes. This morning i took some pics.
this one is my fav
I just realized i never showed you pictures of Zion's nursery and of course it has changed since i first decorated but i will get some pics up of that soon too. Cause you know i've got plans to change it up a bit already. Don't tell the hubs.

Give a little Grace

Recently, I have talked to so many mothers who struggle with being a Mom. Not because the work is too hard or the kids are crazy but because they feel a pressure to raise their kids the way everyone tells them to.

It is so hard for this generation of Mothers. Everyone especially other moms judge you for how you "do" or "don't" parent. When we are ALL just trying to figure the whole "mom" thing out. NO ONE has it figured out no matter how much it looks like they do.

Romans 12:9-13
"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spirit fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in Hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."

For the big stuff-If you are praying and seeking what the Lord wants you to do for your family then it doesn't matter what people think, cause sometimes he tells you to do crazy things and your like, "um God are you sure this is what you want me to do? cause it's gonna be hard and people are gonna think i'm crazy." and he's like "Yes i'm sure, people thought i was crazy too."

For the little stuff-YOU love your kid more than anyone so obviously you are going to do what you think is best for them. God gave them to YOU to raise, love, and protect, so if he trusts you to do that everyone else should too.
I just wanted to encourage moms struggling with judgement and wondering if you are doing this parenting thing right. YOU ARE.
Whether you let your kid go out in the cold without shoes or a hat on, or if you feed them bananas or chocolate for breakfast, or if you let them cry it out or cuddle them to sleep, or if you give them breast milk or formula, or if you bathe them every night or twice a week, or if you do cloth diapers or disposables, or whether you vaccinate or not, or if you baby wear or not,  or co-sleep or not, or whether you turn your car seat around at a year or 2 years, or whether your kids are home-schooled or go to public school. DON'T LET OTHER PEOPLE MAKE YOU THINK THAT'S NOT OK. IT'S OK. every child is different. they need different things.

Maybe if we just gave a little grace it would make it easier on all of us.

7

If you follow me on Instagram you know that Natalie from GuffeyLove and i are doing a blog series on the book 7, the mutiny against excess. it's a seven month process on learning to live with less. Each month there is a different topic and the first is food. You pick 7 foods to eat for the whole month. That's right only seven. And not categories like "veggies" or "fruit" which is what i was trying to do. I was planning on starting 7 yesterday but after adding to many "large categories' to my list i decided to start next monday so i could eat up the good stuff in my fridge so it didn't go bad.
I'll be back Monday with Day 1!
