O Happy Day!

Hey lovelies, Happy Valentines day! I hope you had an amazing day, spending time with people you love. I LOVE valentines day, For as long as i can remember i've celebrated this day, my mom always got us a little gift and my dad always took me out for breakfast or brought me flowers.  And this morning my sweet sweet husband woke up at 4:30AM to pick up these beautiful tulips, and the most thoughtful card!
I realized i never shared with y'all the pictures from when we planted our Christmas tree together, and since that was sweet surprise from the hubs, i thought i'd share the pictures with you on this day of Love. If you want to read the story of the Christmas tree you can do that here.
Now maybe in 10 years we can decorate it :)

Kids Play Kitchen

I hope you guys in the south have been enjoying these snow days! i have been catching up on all my little projects i have wanted to get done. I painted my sewing table and vanity. And I'll post on those later, but i wanted to show you what we made for our niece for Christmas. I have seen these all over blog world but they are all very different. Here is our try at it!  We used some old bedside tables i found at the thrift store. The one on the right was $4 and the one on the left was $10. One is for Mimi's house and one is for the girls house.
Here are the tables before.
First we drilled holes for the sink and faucet.
Then sanded the whole thing down.
Then we painted them, the sides we painted with black board paint.
We attached the sink and faucet with liquid nail. The stove eyes are sour cream and cream cheese lids we spray painted and screwed in. We spray painted the inside of the drawer silver and reattached the doors so they pulled down like an oven.
Here is the finished product. We attached the top of the kitchen (with the knobs and clock) with brackets.
Sorry i didn't take very good pics of the finished product but here are the after pictures.

My Mother in Law (Mimi) helped me make the curtains and aprons. They turned out so cute!

We found the knobs, fabric and cute flower hook at Hobby Lobby. The sink is a dog bowl from dollar general. The faucet is from Walmart and the paint was an oops color from Walmart as well. We also got some cute cloth food from Ikea.

Merry Christmas to You!

Since the Hubs and i are going to be with family for Christmas we decided to do our family Christmas last weekend. It was so much fun! We listened to Christmas music, made a fabulous dinner, prayed for eachother and the up coming year, and exchanged gifts and played games.
Here are some pics of how it all went down!
This is what i came home to.
Buddy loved his bone
I bought myself some clothes for my christmas gift so he kindly wrapped them up for me :)
And i got him a chalk pot to match his climbing pad. So it's a cute little matching set now :)
Yes that's a cricut, I can't wait to get to use it. It will make my scrapbooking/crafts so much easier!

I hope you all have a very Blessed Christmas!!

Wreath all about it

I love wreaths, they are a cheap way to decorate for the holidays and can be used again next year! You know how i love recycling :)
This year i made a few wreaths. I bought the ones from Hobby Lobby for the outside of our house. The Burlap is only .69 cents a yard at Walmart and .99 cents a yard at Hobby Lobby, but at HL you can use thier 40% off coupon to get it even cheaper. And the wreaths were $4 each. I got four wreaths and ribbon for about $20. But i can use them every year!
My Parents gave me this live wreath, that i hung on our laundry room door, right in the kitchen so we can see/smell it all the time.
I also made this one for our bedroom door. I got this wreath from HL for $2.50 and the berries on the stick were .50 cents and i only used about 3. I just broke them apart and stuck them in the wreath so if i get bored with it can just take them out and change it up. This wreath only cost me about $4.
I also made this one out of book pages, it's not quite finished yet, but you get the point :) I used a book i already had and the wreath is one like the picture above but i got it at the thrift store for $1.50.

Tour of Homes 2010

Hey guys i've decided to join the 600 plus bloggers and link up to the Nesters Tour of Homes 2010
So here is what the cabin looks like this holiday season.

I don't have very many Christmas decorations so i just found things in my house that were red and green and added lots of free Christmas tree trimmings from Home Depot and Lowes.
It's simple which means it's a lot less to clean up in Jan :)
Go check out all the Beautiful Homes at Nesting place!
