What i can do with a little bit of energy

I haven't made a final decision on the mirrors yet, I'm leaning toward keeping the octagon and oval mirrors and leave a couple gold and paint the rest black. Maybe I'll get around to that this week or in a few months, who knows... But i did have a burst of energy this weekend and did a few makeovers.
Warning... this post is gonna be all over the place, i hope you can follow along :/
I had some energy this weekend so i starting working on all those little projects that have stacked up and i swore i would get to later, well this weekend was later.
Remember the trunk my dad found on the side of the road for me that i painted in this post.
Here is what the trunk looked like when my dad found it...
 then i painted it this army green color and threw my scrapbook stuff inside.
Well i fixed it up, reorganized my scrapbooking stuff and now it looks like this...
First i spray painted it in Rustoleums Heirloom White.
Then i added some contact paper i had, originally from Target.
I also went a little crazy with Mod Podge and covered a hanging file box that i had, to put all my paper in one place.

I also put all my scrapbooking stickers and embelishments in this makeup bag i got a the thrift store for .50 cents.

I Mod Podged this old coffee can to put scrapbooking tools in.
I was really bad about getting before pictures this weekend please forgive me.
My sweet friend at work gave me this old light fixture that i turned into a tray.
the bottom was glass and it had a hole in the middle (used to be for the light.)
So i used Mod Podge and some scrapbook paper onto the front of the glass and hot glued the glass to the wood on the back to hold everything in place.
This old mail holder used to be wood with gold etching in it, and i brilliantly decided to spray paint it white, well it made the gold etching all weird looking so i added some Mod Podge and scrapbook paper to it and now it looks like this...
And the last thing i modge podged, not even sure if that's a word, was this sign,
it was really hard to take a picture of
here is the before picture.
I hung it up in our kitchen and tried to get a good picture but there is no light in this part of the room so it was a little bit of a challenge.
 The hubs helped me with the light issue

I also made a few new things for the shop this weekend these are jewelry/memo holders.
and i made these chalkboards,
Sadly this is the most crafting/decorating i've done in months. This growing a baby thing wears you out! I'm starting my 14th week so i'm hoping i start getting some energy back in a few weeks.
The dry wall and crib are up in the nursery so i've got a clean slate right now :) hopefully i can get working on that soon!
Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend i'll try to post more this week!

I need your vote!

I mentioned a while back that i wanted to make a mirror wall in our guest room. You can read about that here.
Well since then i have collected quite a bit of mirrors...

I am going to spray paint all the frames but i'm not sure what color. This is where YOU come in.
Here are the options.

Option A- I was thinking to just paint them all black except for the two bottom mirrors in the first pic.  Those mirrors are gold and black so the black will go well.

Option B- Paint them all Red. I am loving the idea of a splash of color, especially on that green wall!

Option C- Something totally different, you decide :)

Just to remind you this is the wall i am putting them on..
And this is the look i'm going for...
So please let me know what you think! i need your help, Option A, B, or C?

O Baby!

Hello there lovelies! I know the blogging has been sparse lately but i have a good excuse. I'm growing a baby in my tummy! Man is that a lot of work! I have been so tired and nauseous lately that there has not been much crafting, decorating or organizing going on around here :( But i'm already feeling better than the beginning of the pregnancy so i'm hoping to get back into the swing of things. O yeah and Baby G's eta is January 30, 2011!
The hubs is a big climber so i told him by giving him a pair of baby climbing shoes, they are the cutest thing i've ever seen!
We are not sure if we'll have one of these...
or these...

Here are some nursery ideas i've pinned on Pintrest.

 I am at the end of my 11th week. Baby G is the size of a Lime!

I think we will find out if it's a boy or a girl in about 5 weeks. I can't wait to start decorating  a nursery.
You are probably wondering where baby G will rest he/she's pretty little head...
In the climbing room! We thought it would be best to have baby g closest to us and this little room is perfect, not too big not to small.

 I told the hubs the hubs we have 6 months to work on the nursery but he was ready to get to work and has already taken down the climbing walls and is in the process of putting up some dry wall.
I have so many ideas going on and i can't wait to find out what our little lime is...

Master Closet Makeover...Finally!

BEWARE... this post has LOSTS of pictures :)
So i have been hinting at our Master closet makeover and we finally are close enough to done that i'm ready to share it with y'all! The only thing we are still hunting for is a light fixture..i'm looking for one today and i know exactly what i'm looking for so i'm hoping for some luck today!
Here are the semi-before pics...
Nasty Walls
 Plain Walls
We unloaded everything from the closet and this is what our bedroom looked like for a few weeks.
We took down all the shelving,

I can't remember how this magically, amazingly, wonderfully happened but the hubs found a GEM behind that dry wall!
Who covers this up!?!?
  We fell in love :)

 We had some of Martha Stewarts Flagstone Grey paint leftover from my craft room.
So we used the rest of that for the closet.
Paint=Free

 the hubs boss gave him some left over carpet from work.
it was beautiful...
carpet=free!

 We took the old carpet up, laid out and cut out the new carpet from the old. Easy Peasy.

Paint and Carpet, DONE!
They look so great together!
and if you'll notice from this picture below...
there is no trim
So the hubs added some trim he had leftover in the shed...
Trim=Free!
 The trim "finished" the room.
 Then we searched and searched, and searched for a closet system, which are VERY expensive! We considered putting the white system back but after all that work we wanted it too look classic and we were looking for some wood shelves to match the accent wall and trim.
Here is how it went down..
we headed to Lowes and Home Depot. Lowes had a system that we loved but when we priced it out it came to about $400...if you haven't noticed before we don't have that kind of money to spend on closet system. And even if we did we would search for the cheapest option :)
So we went to Bed Bath and Beyond with out 20% off coupon and found the EXACT.SAME.SYSTEM for about $160 less!!
So we got the whole closet system for $240 and we had some pieces left to use on the guest bedroom closet and we still have one of the long pieces left to use somewhere else.
Here is the finished product.
 When you see all our jammed clothes please take note that this is our ONLY closet this house doesn't have any coat closets. boo..and this is both our winter and summer clothes. Our next task is to pair down our clothes...well really just me :)

The hooks for our belts we had on hand, we repurposed them from the laundry room. So they were also free :) are you tired of hearing that?
 We bought this metal shelf at Walmart for $60 and figured if we ever move we can take it with us. All the baskets we already had and just gathered from around the house.
and that little metal shelf for the hubs shoes we got at walmart for $20 with the same intentions.

 For the curtain i bought a drop cloth from Home Depot $10, the rod is a hiking stick that the hubs brought back from vermont for me when we were dating :) and to hold the rod up i bought those curtain tie backs for $5.

So here's the project breakdown...
I know that we usually do things on the free side of cheap so this total may surprise you but it was WELL worth it!!
Carpet=Free
Paint=Free
Trim=Free
Awesome Accent Wall=FREE!
Curtain Rod=Free
Hooks=Free

Closet System=$240
Metal Shelving=$80
Curtain=$10
Curtain holders $5
Total=$335
