Yay or Nay?

Hey guys, so i need your feedback! While parusing the thrift store today i came across this adorable fabric.
I scooped it up for .99 cents, planning on using it for the background of a dry erase board i am making. But when i got home and saw that it was a valance i realized it was too small for my frame. So i replaced my old valance, made out of napkins from world market,(shown below) with the new sunny yellow polka dot one.

Since i am used to my longer one i didn't know if the polka dot one was too short.

What do you think, do you like the old or new valance?

Saving and Organizing, and it feels so good!

I come to you with very good news tonight!! So if you remember one of my new years resolutions was to pay off my student loans. Well with the help of my amazing husband we have paid off one of my Student Loans which means we only have one more loan to pay off. We had been paying half of our mortgage towards this loan every month so now we can put that money into savings.
It's such an amazing feeling.
Anyway on to real life.. i started organizing my closet tonight, this might sound like a simple task, but once you see the pictures below you'll understand why it may take a while to get the  after pics.
I am ready to get rid of stuff i just don't know what to get rid of and what to keep.

If you have any tips please share :)

Look what i did with my thrifty finds...part 2

Hey guys, i have been fixing up some things... here they are
Basket from thrift store $1

perfect next to my bath tub.

See that frame on the far right
i spray painted it the same turquoise that i painted the basket, and painted the inside with chalkboard paint.
i am waiting to get a chalkboard paint pen but i haven't found one yet.
 pyrex :)
vintage straw holder
i love the open cabinets
These are the containers i found for .50 cents each.
I am working on organizing more kitchen cabinets so i can take more doors off.
I got this very large frame at the thrift store a few weeks back.
I had some white paint laying around the house.
i distressed the edges a little bit and of course...painted it with chalkboard paint. i'm tellin ya i love the stuff!!
So there ya have it, the rest of my finds and a few before and afters. This weekend i went home to help a friend with their nursery. And a few months ago i helped another friend with her nursery and haven't posted yet, so soon i will do a large post on Nursery makeovers.
Stay tuned!

Look what i did with my thrifty finds... part 1

Hey guys, i wanted to show you what i did with some of my goodies from last weekend.
The bike wheel on the left i put above our bench in the kitchen with some pictures in it.
WaLa :)
I have been trying to incorporate more "manly/stuff the hubs would like" into our decor. Since he loves mountain biking,   i knew exactly what i would do with it when i saw it at Estate of Confusion.
These little guys are in the process of being "made over."
But i found a perfect place for them.
I put pillows on them to cover up the UGLY outlets on the front of our fireplace, you can read all about that here.
So that is what i have done so far, i will be back with more pics of what i did with all the stuff i got last weekend!

What to do... What to do?

Hey guys, quick question... My dad found these awesome crates on the side of the road. There are three.
The top disconnects but the bottom two are stuck together.
And the top of one of them is some kind of feeder or something??
So what should i do with these? i was thinking about making them into flower beds, but i know you creative people could think of some other ideas. I like options :) So let me know what you think i should do!
