Garage Sale Finds
So this weekend while home with the family, husband, my father-in-law and i went to some garage sales. Seriously this is my favorite thing to do! Here is what i found.
I have been looking for one of these old crates for a while. I saw one at pottery barn, of course it was a remake, but it was $24. This one was priced at $10 but i talked him down to $6.
Next i found this old lantern for $5. I have a theme of lanterns going on in our log cabin, but this is my first old one and i love it!
I rearranged our little wine shelf thingy and added my new stuff!
I also got this shelf for $4 i'm going to get a little craft crazy on it and hang it over the toilet in the bathroom.
I got these frames for .50 cents each. The big one i'm gonna turn into a chalk board for our kitchen and the little one i'm going to paint black for our family picture wall in the guest room.
I got this coca cola crate for $7 and used it to corral all of our stuff on our coffee table.
I also got a few old jars, one a lady just gave me and the other is a blue mason jar i got for $1. They are both sitting in the sink waiting for me to wash them cause they were SOOO dirty, i think there were insect nests or whatever in them. Anyway hope you had a fabulous weekend!!

Happy 4th of July!
Holidays are my favorite time of year! Cause it means i get to decorate :) This 4th of July was my first time buying decor for the house and I only spent about $23 on the whole table.
I got the tall red candle stick at Hobby Lobby during their 80% off sale for $6.00. I loved that it was red cause i can use it for Christmas and Valentines day too!
The small red candle on top of the candle holder was $1.50 and the tall red candle was $2 both from Hobby Lobby.
The glass hurricane i had from a previous project. I bought each piece from the $1 store and hot glued them together. The red, white and blue balls are dog toys that i also got from the $1 store.
The flags were about $2 (i think) from Wal-mart. The button flowers i made after my friend saw them in an antique store.
The white plates are what we got for our China for our wedding. It is the Emma Collection from Pottery Barn. The Red flower plates are plastic and they are from Walmart. When i first saw them a few weeks ago they were $2 each and as cheap as i am i decided to wait until after 4th of July to get them half off. But when i was at Walmart the Friday before the 4th they were alreay down to $1 so i bought six. The Blue napkins are also from Walmart they came 2 in a pack for $1. I tied the napkins with a piece of hemp and attached a white button on top.
Breakdown:
Red Candle Stick-Hobby Lobby $6
Red Candles-Hobby Lobby $3.50
Blue Napkins-Walmart $3
Red and white flower plastic plates Walmart $1 each
Flags Walmart-$2
Red, white, and blue knots-$1 Store-$1 each
Total: $22.50

New Fireplace

As one of our many projects in our home we are looking to purchase a wood burning fireplace. Much like the one pictured above.
When we bought the house the fireplace looked like this...

Now it looks like this...

I couldn't stand that ugly, cheap looking fireplace. With its ugly stone placement and why would you put outlets on the front of your fireplace is beyond me, and to top it off it is not even hooked up to anything. So i just decided to cover it up until we can save money to destroy it.
So, does anyone know of a good place to find a reasonably priced wood burning fireplace?? Please let me know!

New addition to the family!
It has been soooooo long since i've posted!! Since we moved into our house about 3 weeks ago we haven't had internet or cable, so posting has been a bit difficult. This saturday we got a dog, we have a fenced in back yard so it is perfect for our little pup!! His name is buddy he is sooo cute. We got him from the humane society and on Mondy we took him to the vet and found out he is about 10 months old and a retriever dalmation mix. Here are some pics they are from the humane society website so they are not too recent but we will add pics soon :)
