My first Mothers Day

On Sunday i celebrated my first Mothers Day. It was perfect. I haven't really written much on here about being a mother because there is so much i don't know and it's a pretty intimidating subject if you ask me. But i can tell you that being a mother is the best and most fulfilling job i have ever had. It was one of the hardest transitions i've had to go through; starting with major surgery, lack of sleep, emotional exhaustion, CrAzY hormones, and most of all trials over what the Lord has told me is best for my son versus what the world tells me is best for him.
It is so easy to feel inadequate as a mother especially when the thief of comparison steals your joy. But i would not trade it for anything in the world. Especially when i look at him and he is looking at me like this...
or this...
or when he looks at his daddy like this...

I believe that if you seek the Lord on how he wants you to raise your children he will tell you, and sometimes he tells people different things and but neither is right or wrong they're just different.

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9

The Lord gave ME the opportunity to raise one of his children. So humbling and i pray everyday that I raise him right.
So here is my Mothers day in pictures. We started our day in the early service at church and then hit up my favorite breakfast spot, Krispy Kreme!
I told robby that when Z is older, like 2, we can play dress up as the krispy kreme man, and we can go to kk every friday and he can put on that adorable hat and carry around the kk box and we can serve each other donuts. That might just have to be a Z and Momma thing since dad looked at us like we were a little crazy ;)
Then we went to the thrift store and i got some tapes for the car. 5 for a $1. awesome.
I also got some frames, i will post a before and after later.
Then we came home and did this all. day. long...
it was perfect.

and the hubs made me dinner!(i wish i had taken a picture of that) we made this new concoction that is out of this world. you've gotta make it.
here's the recipe
you'll need

broccoli
pasta
pineapple
chicken
salt and peper
garlic
lemon juice
olive oil

first make your pasta and bake your broccoli at 350 for 12 min.

cut up your pineapple

marinate your chicken

I put our pineapple and chicken on skewers and grilled them

Then mix together some olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice (1-2 lemons) salt and pepper.

Mix in a bowl the pasta, broccoli, chicken, and pineapple and pour the olive oil mixture on top. literally the best thing we have ever put in our mouths. The first time we made it we ate the whole thing and fell asleep on the couch until midnight.

Here are a couple more pictures of Z and I

I am so blessed to have an incredible Mother and Mother in law who have been such Godly examples of what it is like to be a Mother.
Thank y'all for all the sweet Mothers Day texts and facebook messages!
